2 Residential Developments in Downtown White Plains Get the Green Light

The Westchester County Industrial Development Agency (IDA) has voted preliminary and final approval of financial incentives for the construction of two separate multi-family residential developments in downtown White Plains. The projects, which represent a combined $131 million in private investments, are the next entry in a long list of recent developments in the White Plains real estate market.


White Plains Plaza sells for $105M

White Plains Plaza, a complex composed of two 15-story office buildings, has been sold for $105 million, the Business Journal learned this afternoon from the real estate services firm Newmark, which has been marketing the property. The buildings involved are at 1 N. Broadway and 445 Hamilton Ave. The buyer is a privately-held New York-based investment firm, Argent Ventures. Newmark characterizes the transaction as “the largest single asset office sale in Westchester since 2010.”


Popular Fairfield County Tea Shop Opens New Location In White Plains

"The owners of a popular bubble tea shop in Fairfield County have opened a new location in neighboring Westchester County.

Whale Tea's latest business is in White Plains. The owners also operate a location in Stamford.

The menu includes a variety of milk teas, with flavors such as taro, mango, strawberry and matcha."


White Plains St. Patrick's Day Parade is back in step after pandemic absence

The White Plains St. Patrick's Day Parade will return to the city in 2022. 

Traditionally held on the second Saturday in March, the event was canceled in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The last parade was held in 2019. This year's parade will begin at noon on March 12.

Greca Mediterranean Kitchen + Bar, which operates a Connecticut location in Litchfield County, now has a New York restaurant in Westchester County, located in White Plains.

The new restaurant's menu offers guests a wide selection of dinner dishes, including gyros, Faroe Island salmon, lamb chops, skirt steak, and more.

Attorney Mark Weingarten of the White Plains law firm DelBello Donnellan Weingarten Wise & Wiederkehr LLP said construction could begin next year.
